MATTE JERSEY – F01
92% Viscose 8% Spandex
The fabrication that started it all. Since 2001, Mela Purdie has used the same original composition and mill to create this long-lasting and pill resistant mid-weight jersey. The collection began with styles 283, 103, 226, 274 and 100, all of which are still in the range today.
The production team constantly works on refining and improving yarn, which is sourced in Europe and is a high twist crepe viscose. Each and every colour way is developed exclusively for Mela Purdie and the fabrication itself is a worldwide exclusive.

MOUSSELINE – F64
100% Technical Polyester
Using the height of modern fabrication finishing technologies, Mela Purdie’s mousseline is completely unique and offers optimal comfort and style. A technical polyester, which is more expensive to produce than silk, it is created in Japan with an extremely fine denier line. It is then finished with “air flow”, a new tech¬nology that increases fluidity and gives an airy effect to the textile.
Internationally Mela Purdie is the largest consumer of this fabric, which is again created in custom colours for her. Each garment has an individual and luxuriously relaxed finish. The special nature of the fabric is designed to create a lustrous and rippled surface texture unique to each garment.

SPLICED JERSEY – F0164
92% Viscose 8% Spandex spliced with 100% Technical Polyester
This is where Mela began to experiment with woven fabric for the first time. A combination of mousseline and jersey helps to create drape and adds a more dressed up feel to traditional jersey. An easy-to-wear blend of lightness and comfort.

MICROPRENE - F65
61% Cotton 35% Polyamide 4% Elastane
The Microprene fabrication is a fantastic lightweight cotton perfect for the warmer weather. Easy to care for, durable and crease resistant this fabric is a travellers’ best friend.
Sourced from the fabric mills of France, Microprene is crafted from a French stretch cotton blend and is exclusive to the Mela Purdie brand. The high-stretch component of the fabric provides durability and in-transit comfort.
Its lightweight properties make it ideal for trans-seasonal weather when travelling. Microprene is an easy-care fabrication making it a travel-friendly option. Microprene is mainly used for pants in the Mela Purdie collection.

Crafted in Taiwan utilizing European engineering, Panne is the perfect winter weight addition to your core wardrobe. Panne is made from a heavy-weight, stretch cotton blend. The four-way stretch component of the fabric provides ultimate comfort for travel. Tailored designs generated in the Panne fabrication are figure-flattering and warm, making it the perfect base fabric for any wardrobe and to help you travel in style.

MACRO-MOUSSELINE -F66
100% Technical Polyester.
From the Japanese Mousseline textile family of technical polyesters, Macro-Mousseline is in line with the demands of evolving fashion trends. Crafted from a 19gms per meter increase in fabrication weight, Macro-Mousseline creates a more modern appearance.
This richer surface finish reflects a more dense and intensified effect which improves upon the technical polyester fabrication. The update to this technical fabrication reduces pilling and increases wear-ability while maintain drape and fluidity for ease of styling and care.

100% Technical Polyester.
Engineered from the Japanese family of technical polyesters, maché offers further fashion solutions with exclusively European appeal. This fabrication is crafted from a double micron yarn which creates both strength in the fibre and a full-bodied fabric feel.
Developing this fabrication with a high twist weave has allowed a denser yet malleable handle. An amplified weft weave creates a multidimensional surface finish. Coordinating seamlessly with the new season Micro-Mousseline the Mache fabric offers a multitude of versatility and independent wardrobe styling.

The Mela Purdie Velvet fabrication has been crafted from the finest mills globally to bring you a warm, user friendly and comfortable fabrication. This high-quality blend of polyester offers the maximum comfort and flexibility whilst remaining stylish.
A soft pile weave woven as a double cloth on a specialised loom has been utilised for the creation of this fabrication. With soft drape, fine texture, strong sheen and heavy durability the Mela Purdie Velvet collection is a must have investment piece.

100% Italian Wool
Mela Purdie uses Australian Merino Wool that is spun in Italy. A high twist crepe yarn is used to reduce pilling and increase durability. The travel throws, wraps and sweaters are perfect for travel as they are warm yet breathable.
In winter, wool is used in a range of gauges for warmth and conversely in summer cotton is utilised in the lightest gauge possible.

This medium weight crepe has a lovely texture and creates the perfect tailoring component in Mela Purdie’s ranges. The crepe has great stretch and structure and does not need lining. The amazingly tailored items can be placed in a soft wash or hand wash and retain their shape perfectly.

100% Polyester + Water Repellant.
Introduced in 2005, in keeping with the travel focus, water repellent outerwear is designed in memory yarn. This unique technology allows creases to be sim¬ply wiped away with the hand, making these toppers the perfect travel companions.

Machine Washable
The fabric is a solid double knit (not dissimilar to a Ponte just a slightly more technical modern version). It’s a heavier version of the F01 with a smooth clean surface. The weave is very compact and this creates good structure with flexi stretch. Solid Knit is a brand new development and technical knit. At the mo¬ment it is exclusive to us in Australia. The only other company that has this fabrication in the world is an upmarket fashion brand in Germany. GABARDINE - F67
54% Viscose 41% Rayon 5% Lycra.
Machine Washable.
The Gabardine fabric is a twill fabric featuring a linear texture. It has a one way stretch offering easy care for the travelling woman. The finish has a slight lustre allowing the user to benefit with easy transitions from Day to Night. Styling within this fabric is very modern and utilitarian. GEORGETTE - F60
100% Silk.
Hand Wash.
Silk Georgette is made with highly twisted yarns. Its characteristic crinkly surface is created by alternating S & Z Twist Yarns in both warp and weft. The Silk Georgette is dyed in signature Mela Purdie colours that work back with the tailoring in the range. MICRO POPLIN – F66
100% French Cotton.
Washable.
The 100% cotton poplin fabric is milled in France using 100% natural cotton fibres. It is lightweight, airy and breathable. Perfect for warmer weather. The beauty of the fabric is that it will show the characteristics of natural fibres and will soften with age. OPALINE CREPE - F61
100% Viscose.
Washable.
The evening component of the Mela Purdie’s Spring Summer collection, the Opaline Crepe is made from a high twist Viscose crepe and milled in Europe. This fabric is an ideal travelling fabric and offer a subtle lustrous finish that will take you into the evening. CREPE DE CHINE – F63
100% Silk
This season’s latest fabrication by Mela Purdie for the Autumn Winter collection is the crepe de chine. Known for its lustrous appearance and French in its origin, this fabric is best known for its unmatched versatility. This fabric possesses a delicate texture, exceptional drape and high durability compared to most silk alternatives.

this season’s fabrications has been updated in the form of the Mela Purdie Whipped Satin. With a lustrous look and soft feel, this technical polyester has been crafted to mimic the elegant drape of a satin with the weight of a light silk and functionality of a washable polyester.
